Mesh Cable Tray Bending Process

Bending a mesh cable tray involves cutting selected wires, shaping the tray to the desired angle, and securing the ends safely, allowing on-site customization without additional fittings.Tools and PreparationTools needed: Bolt cutters or wire cutters, pliers, measuring tape, marker, and protective gloves. Rubber caps or edge protectors are recommended for exposed wire ends .Preparation: Measure the required bend angle and mark the tray where the bend will occur. Ensure the tray is supported on a flat surface to prevent deformation during bending .Step-by-Step Bending Process1. Horizontal 90° Bend (Flat Bend)Mark the line where the bend is required.Use bolt cutters to cut selected cross wires along the bend line, leaving longitudinal wires intact to maintain structural integrity .Gradually bend the tray along the marked line to form a 90° angle. Use pliers to adjust individual wires if necessary .Apply rubber caps to exposed wire ends for safety .2. Vertical Bend (Up/Down Bend)Mark the bend location and angle.Cut cross wires along the bend line, leaving longitudinal wires intact.Bend the tray upward or downward to the desired angle, ensuring smooth curvature to avoid sharp kinks .Secure the ends with protective caps if needed .3. Tee (T-Junction) or Cross BendIdentify the intersection point and mark the tray.Cut the necessary wires to allow the branch tray to fit into the main tray.Bend the main tray edges slightly to accommodate the branch or cross section.Connect the branch tray and secure with clamps or fasteners .4. Offset Bend (Side Shift)Mark the start and end points of the offset.Cut cross wires along the offset lines.Bend the tray in two stages to create the lateral shift, maintaining alignment with the cable path .Safety and TipsAvoid cutting all wires completely; leaving some longitudinal wires intact preserves strength .Work slowly and evenly to prevent deformation.Use protective gloves and eye protection when cutting and bending.Check the bend angle with a protractor or angle guide to ensure accuracy .By following these steps, mesh cable trays can be customized on-site efficiently, saving material and labor while maintaining proper cable routing and protection .
